Already FIve years!
Since 2020, when Mirabilia Lyon was created, we've been exploring materials through art workshops and showcasing these wonderful artists through the Mirabilia Lyon biennial and themed exhibitions that alternate with the show.
In February 2025, for example, we produced Noir Impérial, a tribute to the colour black that gave 40 artists the opportunity to express their talent through their own material [catalogue], in collaboration with the Musée de Fourvière. The exhibition was a great success. We'd like to thank all the artists who have put their trust in us from the outset, and who happily return to each event.
For autumn 2026, we are currently developing ‘Le Vestiaire des Destinées’, an exhibition in Lyon that will bring together around thirty craftspeople and artists celebrating costume as a medium for plastic expression; and for the end of 2026, we will be returning to the Fourvière museum to present ‘La Montagne sacrée’, an ode to nature, dedicated to the mountains, with several different approaches and around thirty art workshops, as part of the third Mirabilia Lyon Biennial.
We've planned the third Biennial in two stages, to allow us to spread out all our projects more evenly and give ourselves time to reflect on the development of our approach. Together with the artists around us, we hope to live up to Mirabilia Lyon motto of ‘matter in wonder’.
