To mark the closing of the exhibition the Wardrobe of Possible Selves, the silhouettes on display will come to life and be worn during a poetic procession to the sound of live baroque music.

On the final day of the exhibition Le Vestiaire des Destinées, the costumes will come to life and be worn during a poetic procession. A group of musicians from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon (CNSMD, Baroque class) will be playing for the duration of the performance.

This free event, open to all, will take place at the Orangerie in the Parc de la Tête d’Or.

CURATORS OF THE EXHIBITION

“Nothing is more human than clothing, nothing more important than what we would have us believe is futile.
We inhabit it; it keeps the memory of our body like the fingers of the one, or more often, the one, who sewed it. It allows us to show ourselves and draws us into dreams of metamorphosis.

Close to our skin, it is, like speech, a bridge between the inside and the outside. It is a language that has its commonplaces and its fabric poems of which the wardrobe of Destinies would be a collection.

"Clothes don't make the man. But they do give you more confidence. This remains to be confirmed, but the way we dress influences our behavior. Moreover, costumes have an impact on our way of thinking, a mode of escape.

Like language, clothing fascinates both by its universality and by the extreme diversity of forms it can take from one society to another. Its importance is confirmed by the interest that historians, folklorists, ethnologists, sociologists, and technologists have long shown in it, as well as by one of the most extensive bibliographies in existence: costumes.

Let's take the time to mix all these areas into a dynamic that would lead us for a few moments to a state of emotional trans, a Locker Room where the imagination is limitless."

The important thing is not the goal, but the path.

The fashion I propose is above all an encounter. My childhood in Africa, and my many travels have shaped my vision and drawn this inalienable taste for colors, lights, the female body. Subsequently, training at the School of Architecture gave me this taste for the work of the line, that of curves and the sense of purity. My vision of fashion is a point of balance between these different experiences.
